1. Project overview and legal information

The My Tho Industrial Park was established by Decision No. 782/TTg dated September 20, 1997, of the Prime Minister and officially commenced operations in 1998. The project covers a total area of 79.14 hectares, with a total investment of over 176 billion VND. The industrial park is planned across two communes: Trung An (My Tho City) and Binh Duc (Chau Thanh District), situated along the Tien River, facilitating trade and goods transportation.

Below is some general information about the My Tho Industrial Park:

  • Project Name: My Tho Industrial Park
  • Location: Trung An Commune, My Tho City My Tho and Binh Duc Commune, Chau Thanh District, Tien Giang Province
  • Area: 79.14 hectares
  • Operating period: 50 years (1997 – 2047)
  • Occupancy rate: 100%
  • Investment sectors: Including animal feed processing; seafood processing for export; PP packaging production; agricultural product processing; cold storage services; garment manufacturing and processing; rice paper and beverage production; ready-mix concrete; shipbuilding and repair.

After nearly 7 years of operation, the industrial park has attracted 23 investment projects and quickly reached a 100% occupancy rate. Along with the Trung An Industrial Cluster, the My Tho Industrial Park has contributed to creating jobs for over 7,000 local workers, with an average income of approximately 900,000 VND/person/month. In addition, industrial zones create many indirect job opportunities in sectors such as construction, transportation, material supply, trade, and services.

2. Investment costs and incentives

Infrastructure management and related services are charged at US$0.4/m²/year (excluding VAT).
Electricity prices are calculated according to Decision No. 648/QD-BCT issued on March 20, 2019.
Water supply rates are US$0.46/m³.
Wastewater treatment fees are applied at US$0.36/m³.

My Tho Industrial Park applies a corporate income tax incentive policy for 15 years from the date of revenue generation, with a preferential tax rate of 10%. Specifically:

  • Tax exemption for 4 years from the date of profit generation.
  • 50% reduction in tax payable for the following 9 years.

3. Geographical location

Perspective view of the My Tho Industrial Park project.

My Tho Industrial Park is located in Tien Giang province, stretching approximately 2.4 km along the Tien River and Provincial Road 864. The area is situated near important transportation routes such as the Ho Chi Minh City – Trung Luong Expressway and National Highway 1A, enhancing regional connectivity.

Tien Giang is a province in the Mekong Delta region with significant economic development potential and an abundant labor force, creating a major advantage in attracting investment and developing industrial production.

Distance to the park:

  • From National Highway 1A: approximately 4 km south
  • From My Tho city center: approximately 3 km west
  • From Ho Chi Minh City: approximately 72 km southwest
  • From Tan Son Nhat Airport: approximately 86 km
  • From Saigon Railway Station: approximately 60 km
  • From Hiep Phuoc Port: approximately 60 km
  • From Saigon Port: approximately 80 km

4. Infrastructure System

Several businesses are operating in the My Tho Industrial Park.

As one of the earliest established industrial zones, My Tho Industrial Park boasts a relatively complete infrastructure system. However, due to the weak soil characteristics of Tien Giang province, the initial infrastructure construction costs are relatively high. In return, the transportation system, warehouses, and cargo handling ports have been developed synchronously to meet the needs of businesses.

  • Internal Transportation:
The road system includes a main axis with 4-6 lanes and internal routes with 2-4 lanes, ensuring smooth traffic flow for both large trucks and container vehicles. The main road is approximately 26-27m wide, while internal routes are approximately 16m wide, with strategically placed median strips and greenery.
  • Electricity System:
Electricity is supplied from the national power grid via the route along National Highway 1A, managed by Tien Giang Power Company. Businesses can invest in their own 110/22kV transformer substations according to their needs.
  • Water supply system:
Provided by Tien Giang Water Supply Company Limited with a capacity of approximately 5,000 m³/day, fully meeting domestic and industrial needs.
  • Wastewater treatment:
The centralized wastewater treatment plant has a maximum capacity of 3,500 m³/day, ensuring that the treated wastewater meets Class A standards according to QCVN 40:2011/BTNMT.

  • Telecommunications:
The telecommunications system is provided by VNPT, meeting international standards and ensuring stable connections both domestically and internationally.
  • Other amenities:
A fire protection system is installed along the water supply network, with fire hydrants spaced approximately 150m apart. In addition, the industrial park has a system of green spaces and other supporting amenities.
