Compared to other industrial parks in the province, the Hon La Port Industrial Park is considered one of the earliest projects to be established. Thanks to the trend of relocating production to Quang Binh, this industrial park, along with many others in the area, is entering a vibrant development phase, becoming an attractive destination for investors today.
Located adjacent to Hon La Bay to the east, this area is considered to have favorable natural conditions for developing a deep-water port, and also serves as a safe anchorage for ships. Currently, the Hon La port is in its first phase of development, capable of receiving ships with a tonnage of approximately 10,000 tons.

The Hon La Seaport Industrial Park is planned with a total area of approximately 300 hectares, of which Phase I is being implemented on a scale of 97.58 hectares. This area is oriented towards developing many industries such as: ferromanganese production, processing of agricultural, forestry and aquatic products, mechanical engineering, production of construction materials, shipbuilding and repair, along with logistics and warehousing services.
2. Geographical location
The Hon La Port Industrial Park is located in the central region of the country, along National Highway 1A, in Quang Dong commune, Quang Trach district, Quang Binh province. The project boasts a significant advantage due to its connectivity via inter-regional transportation networks, facilitating trade and goods transportation.

3. Infrastructure system
The Hon La Port Industrial Park was established by Decision No. 09/2005/QD-UB dated March 4, 2005, of the People’s Committee of Quang Binh Province, located in Quang Dong Commune, Quang Trach District. The industrial park has a total area of 97.58 hectares, specifically allocated as follows:
- Land for factory construction: 55.85 hectares
- Land for services, warehouses, and repairs: 14.88 hectares
- Land for technical facilities, administration, and green buffer zones: 26.85 hectares
The industrial park’s technical and social infrastructure system was invested with state budget funds totaling approximately VND 152.68 billion. To date, many important items such as internal transportation, land leveling, and land clearance have been basically completed, ready to serve investment activities.

To create a favorable investment environment and increase the attractiveness of the Hon La seaport industrial park for businesses, Quang Binh province has been promoting the comprehensive development of essential infrastructure. Many key projects have been implemented, such as: upgrading and expanding National Highway 12A connecting to Laos; renovating and expanding Dong Hoi airport; and investing in the development of major tourist areas like Phong Nha – Ke Bang, Vung Chua – Yen Island, and Bao Ninh… In addition, the province has also developed and applied flexible mechanisms and policies to support and attract investors.
