Khu Công nghiệp Bình Đông đã được HĐND tỉnh Tiền Giang phê duyệt quy hoạch phân khu xây dựng tỷ lệ 1/2000 theo Nghị quyết số 07/NQ-HĐND ngày 10/7/2020. Tiếp đó, dự án được Thủ tướng Chính phủ chấp thuận chủ trương đầu tư xây dựng và kinh doanh hạ tầng tại Quyết định số 1086/QĐ-TTg ngày 15/9/2022. Với tổng vốn đầu tư khoảng 2.428 tỷ đồng, khu công nghiệp có quy mô quy hoạch 211,96 ha, trong đó diện tích dành cho xây dựng nhà máy đạt 160,40 ha, tương đương 75,67%.

AVA Consulting would like to provide some general information about Binh Dong Industrial Park as follows:

  • Investment Attracting Industries: Including manufacturing sectors such as: processing of wood, bamboo, and rattan products (excluding furniture); products from straw and woven materials; garment manufacturing; metal fabrication; rubber and plastic products; paper and paper products (excluding pulp production); furniture manufacturing; pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical raw materials; automobile and motor vehicle manufacturing; electrical and electronic equipment; computers and optical products; jewelry making; manufacturing of musical instruments, sports equipment, and toys; Medical equipment, dentistry, orthopedics, and rehabilitation.
  • Human resources: According to estimates in 2023, the average population of Tien Giang province reached approximately 1.79 million people. The Binh Dong Industrial Park is located in Go Cong town, near the foot of My Loi Bridge and directly connected to National Highway 50, facilitating easy access to the national transportation network. Go Cong town plays a key role as the economic and urban center of the eastern part of Tien Giang province, and also serves as a gateway for trade between My Tho City and Ho Chi Minh City.

The opening of My Loi Bridge has significantly improved the area’s transportation connectivity, making travel to urban areas and river ports more convenient. In the context of agricultural production being affected by saltwater intrusion, the industrial development orientation in Go Cong is considered a suitable solution to shift the economic structure while taking advantage of infrastructure and labor resources.

4. Infrastructure System

Currently, the People’s Committee of Go Cong town has completed the demarcation of the boundaries of the Binh Dong Industrial Park project as well as the related resettlement area. Surveying and documentation work according to regulations has been fully implemented.

In the coming time, the locality will continue to complete the necessary procedures to submit to the competent authority for investment in the resettlement area, and at the same time coordinate with relevant departments and agencies to accelerate the project’s implementation progress. According to the plan, by December 2024, compensation, support, and resettlement work will be completed, thereby handing over the entire cleared land to the investor for construction.
